FAQs

1. How should endnotes be formatted?

Endnotes in a paper are easy to create. A superscript number, such as 1, should be used to identify the notes in the text. You can then use the same number in the notes entry. Authors may incorporate comments in their works. They serve as a substitute for a bibliography in some situations.

2. Are endnotes and references the same thing?

You can use endnotes in MLA and APA-style papers to provide more information on a source or subject. However, a bibliography or list of references is still required, even if you use endnotes. The two are distinct, and you cannot use them interchangeably.

3. How can I install the EndNote toolbar in Word?

You can reinstall the EndNote toolbar on Windows.

  • Select Options from the File menu (in Word 2007, click on the Office icon and choose Word Options)
